Prenatal Imaging Frequently Asked Questions in our Morgan Hill Office

What is your facility like?

Our center’s main focus is family, from before birth on up. We offer a comfortable and relaxing space for you and yours. We even have an interactive children’s area to keep little ones happy and entertained.

What is the difference between 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasound?

A 2D image is the familiar, one-dimensional, black-and-white picture used for diagnostic scans and gender reveals. 3D adds dimension, color and the ability to print off scans or save them to a CD. With this scan, you’re able to see more of what your baby looks like, from its tiny fingers to its cute, button nose. 4D imaging is the most cutting-edge of all ultrasound technology and involves seeing your baby’s movements and personality through 3D video captured on a keepsake DVD.

What is the process? What should I expect at my appointment?

You remain dressed throughout the ultrasound, so it’s best to wear a comfortable pair of pants and top that are easy to move up and down (a dress with shorts underneath is also fine). Plan on arriving 10-15 minutes early; you’ll be greeted by our friendly reception team and given forms to fill out. Once your room is ready, you will be taken back to see your baby on screen for the first time.

How many people are allowed in the room?Room

Our rooms comftrably seats up to 10 people, but accomodations can be made if your party is larger.

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer many discounts to make seeing your little one easier financially. Some of them are:
• $25 discount on any return visit during the same pregnancy
• $25 off repeat clients’ 3D/4D package choice for future pregnancy
• $15 off any package for military, Law enforcement, and firefighters

What type of ultrasound machine is used?

Our state-of-the-art facility uses the best equipment, including our innovative GE Voluson 730 for premium 2D, 3D and 4D imaging.

What should I do prior to the 3D/4D appointment to get the best images possible?

Drink 3+ extra litres of water a day starting 3-5 days before your appointment. This will increase the volume and clarity of your amniotic fluid.  Please follow all doctor’s orders if they vary from anything listed here.

When is the best time to have a 3D/4D ultrasound?

For a gender reveal, the best time for quality imaging is 17 weeks or beyond. They can, however, be performed anytime after 15 weeks. When you want good shots of your baby’s facial expressions, 28 to 32 weeks is ideal.
